Roberta Vacca
She was born in 1967 in L'Aquila, graduated in Composition, Piano, Band Instrumentation, Choral Music and Choir Conduction, she followed specialization courses in Composition with Azio Corghi at Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia, gaining the scholarship of S.I.A.E. for the best graduates and at Accademia Chigiana, gaining a diploma of merit and the prize “Emma Contestabile”. Finalist in various national and international contests, often announced for her compositions' artistic merit, she gained several pizes and reviews. In 2003 she was picked out as representative of Italy at the “International Rostrum of Composer” of UNESCO, in 2004 for the XXVI Foro Internacional de Música Nueva “Manuel Enríquez” in Mexico and in the same year she was resident composer at the Mac Dowell Colony (U.S.A.). She received commissions from prestigious institutes, like Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Settimana Musicale Senese, I.C.O., Teatro delle Muse, OSN of RAI, 48th Biennal of Venice, ORT, Festival of Huddersfield, as well as from several soloists and ensembles. In occasion of Mozartian Celebrations, both “OperAperta–Terra di Teatri/Regione Marche” and the Music Conservatory “A. Casella” in L’Aquila, put on a very particular reworking of her own of “Il ratto dal serraglio”, which won a remarkable success from the audience and the critics. In 1995 he created, together with some musicians and artists, the Gruppo Teatrale Burattinmusica with which she takes care of musical theater productions. She collaborates with several centers of production and research for many projects about acoustoelectronic music and visual art. Lots of her works are published by Edizioni RAI Trade. Graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures, she is a teacher of Theory, Solfeggio and Musical Dictation at the Music Conservatory “A. Casella” in L’Aquila.
